FENDI opens a playful pop-up store in OmoteSando, Tokyo, on April 2017.
“This space unveils, for the first time ever, the traveling VIP Room “THE HAPPY ROOM” by Cristina Celestino, a first preview of which was presented at DesignMiami/ in December 2016.”
“The Happy Room” suggests harmony and delicacy with a playful side. Several are the references to iconic elements of FENDI: the combination of colors, with a clear reference to Italian design of the 50’s, adds a contemporary and refined allure.

For the new Japanese store, the designer Celestino has designed exclusive new pieces for the Happy Room collection, including a new marble console and customized sofas.

The façade of Fendi Omotesando starts it all, with unique and dynamic arches, representing the iconic arches of FENDI’s Roman headquarters, made of over 2.000 colorful glass fur brick fragments.

This special treatment, called Etere, has been invented by Italian architect Cristina Celestino and it is obtained by treating fur with resin: the processing was used for the first time to create the two end panels of the Folding Screen of “The Happy Room” collection.
