Colette armchair 2020 — Maison Matisse Armchair with rattan frame.
The Colette armchair echoes the textured and decorative atmosphere of the still life Intérieur aux aubergines (1911) that lends its name to this collection, created in partnership with Cristina Celestino. The pattern featured on the seat cushions is in perfect harmony with the other pieces in the collection, which create an all-over combination of geometric shapes and organic forms that recall the scale effects and Orientalism of the painting. The frame of the Colette armchair is made entirely of rattan by the greatest Italian craftsmen, who have been working in the Brianza area since 1889 and are now among the last in Europe. The fabrics used for the seats, are made from natural yarns by a renowned Venetian factory that dates back to the 18th century.
