The project was born out of a desire for temporary immersion into another reality, where the exotic beauty, the love for decoration, the passion for colours and the need to create scenarios in connection with nature are compelling. The focus was a mixture between total grounding in reality and on a research on more personal insights, referring to inner landscapes and personal memories, as to celebrate a new dimension, where different cultures could coexist in an experience out of time - projecting us into a dreamlike and veiled irreverent scenario.
Various patterns together with graphic elements were mingled: a selection of fabrics with geometrical patterns and monocrome shiny velvets and wallpapers on big framed windows creating a view on surreal landscapes. Curved shapes wooden details of chairs dialogue with the geometrical shaped sofa, as a tribute to the Italian gardens. The project is therefore a layering of shapes, suggestions and colours, far away in time and space.
Recalling the concept of the Jardin d’hiver restaurants and cafes, playing with ideas of enclosure and lightness; solidity and transparency – all this as part of a new interpretation of an iconic Palazzo. Internal spaces become permeable, defined by see-through surfaces, rather than walls, creating privileged, unusual and unexpected points of view, bringing the outside feeling to the interior spaces.
